LIMINA - Theological perspectives from Graz

LIMINA is experimentally oriented, but pursues the claim of a systematic treatment of the given problem constellations. Conscious of many effective late modern antagonisms, it is committed to system-critical hermeneutics, not only with regard to secular and post-secular social or political developments, but also with regard to religious and scientific system formations.

Accordingly, the articles published in the journal are primarily concerned with current transformation phenomena. These are examined, analysed and reflected upon in the sense of the theological axiom of the "exploration of the signs of the times in the light of the Gospel" (Second Vatican Council, Constitution Gaudium et Spes 4); with the aim of a critical and constructive examination of sustainable future perspectives or a "new humanism".

In addition to the reference to the present, methodical accents are decisive for the profile of our journal: innovative, unconventional questions and methods characterize the originality of the journal and aim at alternative forms of theological and interdisciplinary work that transcend the classical schemata and methodologies of the theological canon. From the perspective of this classical canon, current questions of the present often turn out to be unusual and hardly comprehensible. They require unusual and innovative approaches that do not shy away from the risk of discipline-specific and methodological transgressions and experiments. The concrete methodological orientation of the contributions is based on the problems addressed or the thematic focus of the respective issue in accordance with the editorial specifications.
