Abstract
CRISPR/CAS9 is heralded as the new key technology in genome editing putting genetical modification of humans within reach. This article investigates the medical possibilities and the current state of bioethics discussions, confronting findings with challenges based on Michel Foucault’s analysis of power (“biopower”). Without presenting a final solution, arguments will be made against a biotechnological fatalism and for the responsible use of this new technologies and its possibilities.
