A Jewish perspective on aspects of food

Abstract
This article addresses Jewish rules and values in relation to human nourishment as well as how people should relate to eating and food. Alongside aspects of religious law that govern kosher food, questions will be raised investigating attitudes towards indulgence and abstinence, the imperative of providing food for the poor, and the necessity of ensuring that the Earth remains agriculturally viable to provide food for future generations.
