From a spirituality of creation to a holistic cosmic spirituality Or: How we can relearn togetherness in creation
Main Article Content
Abstract
The climate crisis urges us to rethink our relationship with the planet and the cosmic world as a whole – theologically speaking, our relationship with creation. Seeing it as “other” and separate from us silences its existence. New concepts in philosophy, aesthetics and pedagogy open up new approaches to (re)build this fundamental relationship in a way that reconnects humanity with creation.
How would these new approaches also reshape spiritual and liturgical celebrations as embodiments of theology of creation? New creation liturgies reveal a new understanding of cosmic creation as a celebration of an all-encompassing community. It invites us to join all our fellow beings on Earth in infinite cosmic worship (via positiva) and the sorrow of loss and pain (via empathica), and it invites us to embrace the transformative power of the risen Christ in our lives and our acts.
